I am a novice caller, only been calling about 3 years. After figuring out what I like, I finally settled on this call. After a little bit of getting used to, like blowing "clean air" with no "sound" in it, this call is really starting to shine. It can get low and raspy, loud and raspy, and has a nice little whine the whole time. You can pretty much do anything with this call. Additionally, the call does not have conventional insides like cork reeds; no tuning is necessary and there's a spittle ejection tunnel so the call doesn't freeze up.

I started learning to blow a call 3 years ago, purchased a nice double reed 2 years ago, felt like my calling started helping my hunts 1 year ago, and purchased my first single reed (this call) this year. Man this thing is all I could have asked for. It is extremely responsive and versatile. It took a bit to figure out my air presentation going from the double to the single reed, but after I figured it out, I feel like I sound better on my double reed as well because this call forced me to learn good technique.

This call is everything I thought it would be.

Hard to take apart to get to the Reed very stuck and when pulled apart looks to be scratched up due to fitment issues poor QC by JJ lares I would return but theres no return policy on Calls

Nice call. Good range and capable of higher and lower pitches imitating multiple ducks. Went to this from double reed as my double stuck a lot. Calling for 40 years. Pretty nice call overall. Haven’t been able to find a replacement for my last homemade call from some really old timers in South Louisiana who made them out of cane found in the marsh in very isolated pockets and made reeds out of the old ace combs we carried as kids but this one is close.

Excellent call, sounds great, its easy to blow, its got a good feed chuckle to it. You can get loud with it, you can get soft with it. Been wanting a JJ Lares for a while. The T1 Timber is next on my list.

JJ Lares hybrid call is a top notch call. I was extremely happy to use it out the box and to hear that sound.

It’s a really nice call I’ve just had some complaints from people about the sound of the call. They’ve tried blowing it and so have I but maybe I should do some tuning, not really sure.

Great call,!! from high notes to soft finishing Quacks this call does it all. Easy to blow and manipulate the different tones you want to turn the ducks to come into to you. The guts are easy to change to suit your style of calling. Weather you blow hard or soft this call is the one you want.
