ClearField Elite Sunflowers is a hybrid variety that produces strong medium height stalks with a larger seed head providing more forage for doves. Clearfield Elite Sunflowers is a favorite among dove hunters because it can be treated with a variety of post-seeding herbicides such as Newpath and Spartan to control unwanted vegetation providing a clean walking area for the doves to feed. Optimal planting would be drilled in at 5#lbs per acre in a firm and clean seed bed. Broadcasting can be achieved over a clean seed bed but at a Rate of 7-8lbs per acre for a good stand .
