Slater's Sculling Paddle have all of the main advantages that wood brings as a paddle, without the disadvantages. This solid plastic paddle is strong, light, and tough all in the same package. In addition, this paddle wont warp, crack, get waterlogged, or rot under any circumstances. This paddle weighs roughly the same as a wood paddle of the same length. Each paddle comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The paddle comes in three different lengths 30, 36, and 42 inches, depending on your height and boat type.

well-made, but noticably heavier than wood paddles

Good solid paddle, well made. Should last a lifetime, unless you do something stupid with it. However, it is DEFINITELY not comparable to the wooden paddles, weightwise. Not a huge amount heavier, but if you're sculling for any significant amount of time, you're definitely going to notice the difference. Much prefer the old wooden paddles, but you can't find them anymore.
