Patternmaster Code Black Goose Choke Tubes have a unique design. The Goose is the same as the Classic Extended Range. This ensures quicker release of gas resulting in reduced pressure and recoil that effectively separates the wad faster and produces an even more symmetric shot pattern. Code Black tubes have been coated with a bronze titanium blend to better withstand heat and corrosion. Once again Patternmaster has gone to the limits to make a top-of-the-line shooting accessory for the extreme hunting experience.
WARNING: This tube is not to be used with slug ammunition, or ammunition that contains a wad/shot cup design as "flight control" or "in flight separation." For best results, Ballistic Performance LLC, recommends ammunition velocities below 1550fps.

Turning Lemons into Lemonade

If I could attach a picture, I would, and you'd understand the 5-star rating. I bought the choke because I have boxes of ammo that didn't do well in my shotgun, so they just sat there... For over a decade... Now, ammo is expensive. I figured it was time to try out the Code Black Goose to see if I could improve the patterns of the waterfowl ammo I have. I evaluated the pattern by tracing my son's frisbee (13.25") and patterning at 40 yards, I had 24.8% (40 of 161 pellets) of the pellets in that circle at the pattern center with some old 3.5" 1's. Beautiful pattern. I tested 2 more 3" loads, and the 13.25" frisbee circle was holding 23.6-27.0% of the pellets (42-48 pellets). Now, the crap ammo performs, and I feel pretty good about shooting it this fall.
