The Matt McClain Sassafras Slate Call is paired with a one piece Black Locust Striker. This call has curved sides and bottom to fit perfectly in your hand. The yelps of this call are a little less raspy and more of a clear tone but break over very well. The clucks and purrs have a nice smooth sound and can be easily made on this call and cutting and cutting can get loud and aggressive with out any slipping on the slate.

A hen in your hand

I brought one of his crap apple slate call and it's the only pot call you will ever want. It sounds perfect with hickory striker. I have hunted heavy hunted public land and it's the only call I had that make turkeys gobble when none would answer back. I would buy another one if I ever lost it or broke it. I have tried zink and others it's worth the price and you will be happy with it.
