Mack’s Kill Plot Deer Forage

Mack's " Kill Plot" is an easy to grow highly attractive deer food plot blend. Kill Plot is a blend of  annual Cereal Grains that can be planted with minimum soil preparation providing quick forage for fall, winter and even into the spring.

Kill Plot is a mixture of 50% wheat, 25% oats and 25% Triticale. Triticale is a hybrid of wheat and cereal rye. This hybrid makes for a highly attractive carbohydrate rich food source that deer love and yet is more adaptive to bad soil, moist periods and is a little more drought tolerant than most of the cereal grains.

We recommend tilling the ground and planting at a depth of 1/4 inch but general sewing with good seed to soil contact and optimal sunlight will produce. This mixture has even been sewn on top of leave litter in an opening in the woods and had satisfactory results. We recommend having a soil test done for best results but 50 pounds of pelletized lime and 50 pounds of 13-13-13 fertilizer per 1/2 acre works well.
