The Dave Smith White Faced Full Strut Turkey Decoy represents a submissive posture of a gobbler that is ready to breed.
The White Faced Strutter is the brain child of Matt Winters (Kansas Premier Outfitters). He approached us, after studying bird behavior for years, about doing a custom white headed strutter decoy. He noticed that often, right before breeding, non-dominant toms head color would change to white. Dominant toms would sprint in and chase the white headed tom off. We agreed to at least do a couple for product testing and we couldn’t believe the results. In the first year of hunting over this decoy, Matt shot 72 toms with his clients. After two years of product testing, we are excited add the White Face Strutter in our decoy line. Wings are molded on the decoy and Tail Fan is not included.

White head DAD decoy.

The decoy is very realistic and well made. I think the weight is around 12 pounds and it’s bulky. My only negative is that I wish the bolt to hold the tail was a half inch longer with a wing nut. This is my fourth DSD. My friend swears by this gobbler decoy. I will find out this spring.
