    Installation Information:
Installation of the Quick-Set Blind REQUIRES cutting and/or drilling of the metal tube frame. Since these units must be cut for installation, we are unable to accept returns. Therefore, we strongly recommend viewing the installation video or reading the installation manual BEFORE placing your order.

Installation on the following types of boats is simple and usual requires hand sawing of up to 4 pieces of metal tubing.

Please read the manual or watch the video BEFORE placing your order, as it DOES REQUIRE ASSEMBLY!

Installation Tip:

If your boat is carpeted, make sure you do not have any carpet between the "lip" of the RivNut and the decking. The RivNut has to sit right against the aluminum decking or it will not seat properly. Having a pocket knife or multi-tool handy is a great idea.

Specifications and additional product information
Please read before ordering. Important product info:

Above are the four basic boat styles that are widely used on the market today. The QuickSet blind will work well with any of them with little or no modification necessary. Diagram 1 shows a v-hull style boat. Many v-hulls have front benches that are compatable to QuickSet mounting as long as the bench is a minimum of 36” across the rear. Some v-hulls are open in the front, a set of QuickSet Mounting Brackets can be used in this case mounted underneath the gunwale and into the side of the boat. These can also be used in the rear as well if there is not a flat surface to mount the base plates to. Diagram 2 shows the basic flat jon boat which is normally an easy installation. Mount the base plates to the front deck and rear bench. Diagrams 3 and 4 are typical modified v jon boat designs and mounting is very similar to the flat jon.

Mud Motors-Most surface drive models require no modification to the rear frame. Long tail motors are a different situation as the long handle can hit the rear of the frame when the blind is down and you are driving the boat. There are two ways to handle this situation, (1) Use the Mud Motor Conversion kit that is a u-shaped bracket that replaces the rear frame rail or (2) modify the rear rail to be open when the blind is in the down position. This is most easily accomplished by purchasing a piece of ¾” square tubing that will slip into the 1” tubing on the rear frame when you raise the blind. You will need to cut out a section of the 1” tubing and then cut the ¾” to fit into that space. Before you lower the blind, simply remove that section and you are ready to steer the long tail motor.

Side Consoles-Many boats are equipped with side consoles for steering. This is not an issue but modification of the frame and flip top on the side with the console is required. Not every console requires bending but follow these steps if yours does.

(1) Mock the frame without installing to completion on the console side.
(2) Mark the areas of the frame where the bends need to be made making sure the throttle is in reverse. Remove these sections and bend the tubing slowly, re-installing after each bend. Bending the tubing back and forth will cause too much stress and breakage can occur. No special tools are required, often there will be a space on the front of the boat trailer where the tubing can be wedged and bent.
(3) Both the main frame rail and the flip top tubing will need to be bent to match. The frame will now rest on top of the gunwale instead of down inside of it.

Plywood-Some boats have been modified to have plywood nounted to the decking surfaces. You can cut out a section of the plywood and mount the base plate conventionally with the riv nut system or you can use self tapping screws and leave the plywood in place. These screws will usually need to be 2” to 2.5” in length depending on the plywood thickness. Holes will need to be drilled through the plywood before inserting the screws through the base plate holes and driiling them into the aluminum surface.

Carpet-A section of the carpet will need to be trimmed away the same size as the base plate before installation.

Boat dimensions for each kit-The 14’-16’ QuickSet Blind will work with boats up to 192” in length of where the blind will be mounted to (not overall length) and 64” across the beam or widest point in the boat. If the beam width exceeds 64”, the 17’-19’ kit will be required. The 17’-19’ Quickset Blind will work with boats 228” of mounted length and 84” beam. Wider beamed boats can still use the QuickSet Blind, however the CamoNet will be short in the rear when the fip tops are raised. Many people with 20 and 21’ boats with 96” beams have sucessfully used the QuickSet blind but additional material will be needed to compensate on the rear of the net. It is very common for the rear of a boat to be wider than the front, this is not a problem. Length of the frame is easily changed through cutting of the tubing, you could mount a 17’-19’ frame to a 12’ boat if necessary. Additional parts can always be purchased through Avery Customer Service by calling 800-333-5119 with your credit card number. Also, there may be a height difference between the front and rear decks. As long as this difference is 6” or less there is no issue. Greater than 6” will require QuickSet Mounting Brackets be used to level the blind.

T-Rail Systems-Many boats are utilizing a gunwale rail for accesory mounting. War Eagle is a prime example of a boat manufacturer that uses such a system. The produce a mounting bracket for the QuickSet blind that can be used with many makes of boats. This bracket must be purchased through War Eagle.

Fiberglass boats-The frame can be mounted to a fiberglass boat. Conventional mounting of the base plates to a deck surface requires the use of epoxy in conjunction with the riv nut so it will hold in fiberglass. Many fiberglass boats such as Carolina Skiffs for example have wide gunwales that the base plates can be bolted into.

Other things to be aware of-Don’t rush through the installation of your QuickSet Blind. You will cost yourself a lot more time if you do, take it slowly and be sure to place all the various parts on the frame before closing it in. For example, put the hinges on both front and rear, slide the ball snuggers and sound stoppers on the frame, put the top straps on the frame and then over the flip tops before closing them, and slide the frame stabilizer bars and clips into place on the frame. Most likely, you will have to cut a frame section of male/female tubing front and rear and on each side for the frame to fit. Make sure you space the ball snuggers out so you will have one every 2’ or so when you roll the net and windblocker around the frame. If you forget a snugger or want to attach more, the easiest way is to untie the knot inside the ball and re-tie it once the snugger is in the correct place. When you are ready to install the set screws, pre-drill the small holes in the tubing before screwing them in. Before drilling the holes that will allow the hinges on the top of the leg assemblies to be bolted to the frame, make sure you mark them while the frame is down. This way you can be sure that the assembly will fold all the way down and will not bind. Remember that the leg assemblies must oppose each other so all of the legs need to fold down towards the center of the boat. The frame will not stand at a perfect straight angle, it will lean a small amount. Never store your CamoNet in open sunlight as the UV rays can cause fading and color change on the nylap. The net will overlap both front and rear in most cases, all depending on the length and width of the frame. You may have enough CamoNet to cover your front deck completely and your motor as well, then again you may not. More material may need to be added in these areas in that case.

Choosing a CamoNet pattern-No one pattern is effective in all terrain types. We recommend BuckBrush for timber and river hunting, it can be good in open water as well. KW-1 is a great marsh and cattail pattern along with Marsh Grass. KW-1 works best in a deadgrass environment while Marsh Grass has more brown and green coloration.

Adding Killerweed-The Killerweed boat blind kits are a great addition to any CamoNet. We recommend one kit for each side of the blind if heavy coverage is your goal, one kit works well to add depth. An easy way to attach the Killerweed strands to the net is using a half hitch method. Take 20-25 strands in one hand and fold them in half. This will give you a loop on one end. Slip the loop under the netting and then pull the tail end through the loop. This will attach the Killerweed to the net and allow it to expand while being able to roll it up easily into the CamoNet for travel. The Avery QuickSet Blind is easy to use, easy to store, and the perfect solution to putting you where the ducks and geese want to be. The only problem we had was with the type of boat we installed it on. There was no place to mount it on the back of the boat. Excel F86 Sallow Water Edition. Had to make some brackets for the back of the blind.

Do you think this item is a good value?
I thought the price was a little high but its worth it. My buddies ponied up which helped and they have killed more ducks out of that boat than the last couple seasons on their own.
