Edge by Expedite Feeder.......

Anybody have any experience (positive or negative) using these decoys in the past seasons? I bought two of these and so far we like the way they looked in the test run during teal season, but I question the way they are made if they will provide longevity. I also have found out (or been told) that Expedite no longer makes these, which would be the reason I didn't see them listed in Mack's catalog this year. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Sorry Delirious! Can't help you on that one. Maybe they got bought out by somebody else? Longevity, seems that's the biggest questions on most of the decoys on the market right now! Bag, double bag, first bag, $6.00 second bag $40 plus. For the price of the decoys how many times to you have to bag your decoys so they don't chip or peel? I can see that helping to a point but you would think with all these different paint companies out there some one would be able to put paint on a plastic decoy that wouldn't chip or peel after a couple of times out in the field!

JBird, Just a thought, maybe the decoy companies want the paint to peel, it's a lot easier to buy new ones every couple years than to paint them. Just thinking out loud.

DD I have heard several people say the paint does rub off easy. I do know Cabela's had them on sale not too long ago but I did not get any of them at that time. I did however get some of their glider decoys from Mack's and noticed the paint seams pretty poor on them but I wanted something else other then a spinner to put on the vortex to see how that might work out. I do wish one of the better decoy companies like G&H would make a surface feeder decoy like you got, man them things would look great on a jerk cored. I just hope the paint is not water soluble like the Flambeau teal and mallards I got a couple of years ago, aint no joke soon as they hit the water the paint just floated off...

Thanks for the input gents, this feeder by Expedite is the motorized feeder that dives every 5 - 15 seconds. I was really skeptical of the design, but bought them anyway. I guess I'll see if they hold up for the season and let y'all know what our thoughts our. As far as painting decoys, that's a continual thing for us, we just can't see throwing them away and buying new ones every couple of years. When we pulled our teal decoys last weekend, they definitely will need to be painted before next season and that's only after 4 years of hunting a total of eight weeks in the pond.

Scott, check this site out! Flockfooler.com Talked to Jeff on the phone also and he has a world of knowledge when it comes to repainting decoys!!! Wouldn't hurt to check him out!!!

Thanks for the info Jay! Always looking for new tricks of the trade and others wealth of knowledge. BTW - If they have stopped making the Edge by Expedite Feeder, I understnad why......Only after two teal hunts for roughly 3 hours each, the unit has taken on water (billed as watertight) and it has started to corode the battery terminals. We cleaned it up and have it drying out at the farm, so we'll see if it will work next weekend for the opener. If anyone has interest in spending the $60+ for them, my personal opinion is don't.............

Scott that sucks to hear but it seams there is so much junk on the market now days. To be honest I am pretty skeptical about these Dakota Decoys now after seeing how these floaters are made but I will wait till after I hunt them for this season before I say too much. I know they say they will stand behind them so only time will tell.
