That works great on flocked fullbodies, what we found that works with flocked shells is removing the heads and placing in a rubbermaid, They maintain their flocking and make the shells easy to stack.

Yes, I have my wife buy the cheap ones at the dollar store. I store my decoys in my "work shop" that's heated with wood. The socks save me a ton of time keeping the heads clean.

Bill, how many decoys do you have?  I have 8 dozen fullbodie goose decoys and three dozen shells.  I hunt a lot by myself at it can be time consuming just picking up the decoys let alone covering all the heads!!!  If my flocking starts wearing off a little bit I just touch them up a little bit.  Cleaning wise, I just use a soft brush or just use the air compressor and blow the dirt away.

  JBird,
I only have a couple dozen full body goose decoys. I don't do a lot of field hunting. I use mine mostly around water set ups. I could see with having large quantities of decoys taking more time, but it only takes a couple of seconds to put the sock on. I also have some bags that have a cover, the decoys in those bags usually don't get re socked til I put on the shelf.

I see no need for socks over the heads when you use durable decoys like Bigfoots and Dakotas

Got a dozen of the Dakota's this year!  Haven't even gotten them out of their plastic bags yet!! because we don't have any birds down here yet where I live!  So I decided to be on the safe side and found a guy in Idaho who makes them and he has a better price than the ones that are out there now!!  Yes the Dakota's are bigger then the GHG decoys so the bags that are out there now won't fit the ones that I have!  Bought a dozen of them today for $53.75.  That includes shipping and handling.  Also bought a dozen for my GHG Lessers for $45.70.  A lot cheeper than what you can by the samething for other places!  They even took their bags that they have down to Cabela's to see if they would fit on the Dakota's and they do!  Now that's service!!

Really, the only way you will need to do anything special for your decoys is if they are flocked, If you have flocked decoys I would highly reccomend socks over the heads or what works really good is if you grab your wifes old nylons and use those. But Beware guys I said Old nylons dont take her new one or you may have more problems than the flocking is worth.
Have a great and safe hunting season everyone.
WHY would you want to use her old nylons?  With the holes or runs in them its not going to do your decoys any good!  Just use her NEW ones!  If she asked you where they went, just tell her.  How would I know?  I don't wear them!!!  Tell her she just misplaced them some where!!
