Great waterfowl hat!

Quality
How is the quality? Does it have every feature you need?
I do winter waterfowl research in western Tennessee, spending time all day in cold, wet, rainy, windy conditions observing waterfowl. I have worn this hat (with no other head covering) in sleet, snow, rain, and wind, crawling in brush, fields,and marshes, and it performs well. Keeps you warm and dry.
I wear this thing every day and I love it.
Features
What do you like or dislike about the features?
I like the ear flaps because they actually stay up and don't constantly flop down. They also work so that when your head is level or looking up (which happens all the time hunting waterfowl), the flaps hug onto your ears and block the wind from getting in. Keeps your ears warm and dry. Mine had an ear flap that was a little shorter than the other, so you need to make sure both flaps are equally sized. Either way, still very comfortable and functional.
I also love the cinch on the back because you can wear a face mask underneath, and you don't have to worry about the one-size problem that Filson caps have.
Cost
Do you think this item is a good value?
Yes, definitely worth the cost. You can buy a Filson cap and spend a lot of time waxing, deodorizing, etc., but the Gore-Tex/fleece is easier to take care of.

Great quality. Very nice lining on the inside.

This hat has a cinch strap on the back for a custom fit. There is a lighter fabric over the ears so you can still hear the whistling wings.

Being a Gore product tester I get to try a lot of gear and this hat tops them all:) I was in need of a new waterfowl hat and I have been really impressed with this one. This goes with me on every hunt.
