Great for catching ducks' eyes
By: TFERV from Elkhart, Indiana, USA
How is the quality? Does it have every feature you need?
Quality is decent. 3 stars because the paint is just "decent" at today's standards and the legs are very flimsy and easily broken. I just don't use the legs on mine anymore. The wings went on and off very hard so I had to sand down the inside of the plastic wing insert so it fit better.
Would you recommend this item?
Yes. But if I had to choose one, would recommend a jerk cord over it (in water).
Is this item easy to use, or does it require prior knowledge/skill?
Fairly easy to use. I mean seriously, if you can't use this you better not be holding a shotgun.
What do you like or dislike about the features?
Along with what I said in the quality section, having a rechargeable batter saves your wallet! Pole they give is fine for field hunts but way too small for in water. You must buy or make a longer one. I made one and works well. The magnetic wings are very nice for those cold days.
NOTE: It's a bit difficult to see the pin for putting the magnetic wings in the slot so I put a magic marker line on the shaft so it was easier to line up.
Do you think this item is a good value?
When on sale, Yes.
Which flyway do you hunt in?
Mississippi Flyway. Specifically northern Indiana and Great Lakes area.
Does this item have a realistic appearance? Do they float well, stand well?
As said above, I think Mojo should up their detail but the paint is durable. Looks good though.
What is the primary use of this item?
When water depth allows, I put mine out in front or in the hole/landing area of my "U" or "J" shaped decoy spread to simulate a landing duck.
Please give your general opinion of this product.
A good product for catching the eye of passing ducks. I recommend it but I would first recommend using a jerk string to add motion to a spread.
