First Seat That Doesn't Sink In Texas Coastal Mud
By: SandRen Custom Boats from League City, Texas (USA)
How is the quality? Does it have every feature you need?
I bought three of these to use on the Texas Gulf Coast (other brands just sink in and are worthless). After 4 days of hunting they worked just as advertised.
General design is good but hard to pack & store in the boat due to legs not folding in tight and the seat stays in one position. Right out of the box these would not fit into my boat storage box, slight modifications will fix that issue.
I replaced the bolt and nut that attaches the seat with a longer clevis pin now the seat can lay flat by the pole, simply run the pin thru the seat and then thru the base for storage; when in the field put the seat on the pole and reinsert the pin. As for the flip out legs, I made slight cuts on the main pole brackets allowing them to fold in tight to the main pole (I use a heavy rubberband to hold them in place for storage).
By making these changes I can fit them all in the front storage of my boat and still have lots of room left.
What do you like or dislike about the features?
Finally a seat that does not sink in the mud.
These seats can adjust for different types of cover height (something the other brands don't do)
Needs to fold up better for storage. This is easy to fix.
Do you think this item is a good value?
Hopefully I only have buy them once (a bit expensive)
I will get a couple more now that they are on sale.
Which flyway do you hunt in?
Please give your general opinion of this product.
I like them for hunting the Texas Coast they perform as advertised. I hope they hold up in salt water (time will tell).
