You forget you're carrying decoys
By: Rich from Modesto, Calif.
How is the quality? Does it have every feature you need?
The quality is exceptional.
Would you recommend this item?
Yes. I have 2 dozen and plan on buying more this year, I'm too old to be pushing a cart full of decoys very far or carrying a heavy decoy bag along with everything else for a mile or more. I use Tanglefree line. I just tie them up in a bowline knot by the dozen and either attatch them to a D-ring and hook it on my day pack or even sling the loops of line over my gun barrel. It desnt get much easier than that.
Is this item easy to use, or does it require prior knowledge/skill?
There really is no skill required to carrying decoys...is there?
What do you like or dislike about the features?
They tend to roll in a heavy wind that swirls. so instead of the decoy changing direction in a sudden heavy wind shift, they roll on the water. Use a heavy enough weight to keep the deeks from blowing away if they catch the wind.
Do you think this item is a good value?
Honestly, for the construction and materials used they seem to be a bit spendy. But they more than make up for it in the ease of use and extreme light weight. You can carry 6 dozen that weight under 15 lbs with weights. How much do 6 dozen of your plastic body deeks weigh?
Which flyway do you hunt in?
Does this item have a realistic appearance? Do they float well, stand well?
These decoys look exactly like the picture. To the human eye, they dont look very real compared to alot of other decoys currently on the market. But the Uvision paint makes all the difference in the world. It reflects UV light in a way we cant see, but helps ducks distuinguish between real ducks and decoys. Remember, it doesnt matter how good a decoy looks to you if the ducks dont like it. To us they dont look the best, but the Uvision paint makes them look real to ducks, and thats the whole point.
What is the primary use of this item?
Duck hunting refuges where long walks are the norm.
Please give your general opinion of this product.
They are extremely light weight so they move on the water easy...sometimes too easy. They WILL ROLL in a strong swirling wind, they have no keel and if your anchor is too light you will be chasing them down and thats the word of experience.
