Nice Lookin' Decoys
By: MBL from Conway, AR, USA
How is the quality? Does it have every feature you need?
Overall, Banded designed a pretty darn good lookin' decoy. 7 drakes, 5 hens. Good color, realistic size and look, light weight but not super cheap feeling like a good number of brands I looked at. First season with them in the field and half-way through the season they've held up well, paint is still in great shape even though they've been lugged around and roughed up a bit.
Would you recommend this item?
Give 'em a go
Is this item easy to use, or does it require prior knowledge/skill?
Easy to rig up. The hard part is figuring out the real birds
What do you like or dislike about the features?
The hens have a beautiful feather detail design, drakes are nicely done but not at the Dakota or Avian X level. Nice realistic size, light weight but not super cheap feel. Only thing I have to complain about is on a couple of decoys the paint was a bit sloppy in a couple of spots but not a big deal and certainly not enough to complain about, that's just me being a bit of a perfectionist. I will say the color on the drake heads really pops when you get some good sunny conditions
Do you think this item is a good value?
I got these at an amazing price during Mack's Fall Festival sale which was the decision maker on getting these decoys versus other brands. Had they not been on sale, I probably would've chosen a different brand not being very familiar with the Banded Blocks decoys, but after putting them to work I think they were a great investment that I lucked out on at an amazing price. Definitely no regrets on this buy!
Which flyway do you hunt in?
Does this item have a realistic appearance? Do they float well, stand well?
Realistic size, good color, nice feather detail, float well, move well in the wind or rigged up on a jerk system
What is the primary use of this item?
Getting the ducks in the hole so we can whack 'em and stack 'em
