Works as well as live decoys!
By: L Keith
How is the quality? Does it have every feature you need?
Excellent quality. Slight to moderate wind gives lifelike movement which geese want to see when working a spread.
Would you recommend this item?
Yes, the first morning we used these Speck decoys, our entire party was limited out within 30 minutes.
Is this item easy to use, or does it require prior knowledge/skill?
Fairly easy to use, however the detachable heads are difficult to attach and require some force to work into place. That's my only complaint.
What do you like or dislike about the features?
The difficulty in attaching and removing the heads.
Do you think this item is a good value?
You get what you pay for.
Which flyway do you hunt in?
Mississippi and Atlantic. On rare occasions the Central. Also hunt waterfowl in Africa.
Does this item have a realistic appearance? Do they float well, stand well?
Very realistic. I use the full body Speck's on land or in very shallow water.
What is the primary use of this item?
Hunting Speckle belly Geese.
Please give your general opinion of this product.
I've been hunting waterfowl here in the USA and abroad for 45 years, and used everything from plastic grocery bags to mounted birds. Avery has a very good product for taking Speck's with these full body decoys. We limited out within 30 minutes the first time I set these out (only used 6). I believe it gave more confidence to the Snow/Blue/Ross geese we were hunting as well. We hammered them that day. These decoys have lifelike movement even in light wind and fool even wary birds late in the season. I recommend transporting them and storing in Avery decoy bags. These are deadly on Specks, especially if your well hidden.
