Big bucks often live off the beaten path, great distances from perfect soil conditions and in areas where bringing a tractor is out of the question. Does that mean you cannot put a food plot deep in the woods where big bucks live? Nope. It means you need Whitetail Institute Secret Spot Food Plot.
Secret Spot is the original food plot planting system designed to be planted in that small clearing in the middle of the woods where big deer like to hang out. Secret Spot will attract and stop deer close to your stand. It is so easy to plant and effective that you will want to buy a bag for every stand! You only need one bag to plant a personal (4500 square foot) food plot around your stand.
We know soil conditions aren't always perfect so we added a PH booster to Secret Spot. Even if soil conditions aren't perfect, Secret Spot can grow. Secret Spot Food Plot sprouts in a week or so with moist soil so it can be planted in the late summer or early fall and will be ready in time for deer season.
Best of all, the only equipment needed to plant Secret Spot is a rake, a little fertilizer and a little elbow grease. The area where the plot will grow needs to be raked to remove grass and debris. Then you spread the seed, lightly re-rake the area to ensure good seed and soil contact and you are done! In a week or so, the seed will sprout with adequate rainfall.
With Secret Spot you can provide a great food plot for the deer right where they live instead of trying to entice them to come to some far off food plot. You can create your own Secret Spot that only you and the deer know about.
Planting Instructions:
Eliminate grass in the area to be planted by weed-eating, mowing or spraying a Round-Up type herbicide. (If Round-Up or other herbicide is used, check the label for number of days to wait before seeding.) NOTE: Plants require at least 4 hours of sunlight per day. Drag or rake area thoroughly to remove grass and other debris leaving exposed soil.
For best results add 25 lbs of 13-13-13 fertilizer per bag; 100 lbs of lime per bag.
Re-rake area lightly and seeds will germinate in week after rainfall.
