The Knives of Alaska Bush Camp Knife is a large 10-1/2 inch long, full-tang, .14 inch thick knife with a 6 inch drop-point blade. The handles are our black rubberized Suregrip. The knife is designed for rugged bush camp field-dressing and cook shack duties. The blade steel is D2 with a Rockwell hardness 58-60 and has the hunter's non-glare matte finish.
Most Knives of Alaska products are fixed blade knives. This means the blade does not fold, like a pocket knife, but is kept in a sheath. Some other companies make fixed blade knives with a peg that fits into the handle, but Knives of Alaska fixed blade knives are full tang - the knife steel is part of the entire handle. This makes a knife much stronger and more dependable, and that's what Knives of Alaska is about!
