RWS Copper Matrix NTF 223 Remington Non-Toxic Frangible Rifle Ammunition contain no toxic heavy metals such as lead. Frangible bullet construction immediately disintegrates into small fragments upon striking a hard steel surface. Back splatter is eliminated. Ricochet potential is significantly reduced. Copper Matrix NTF ammunition functions reliably with duty weapons without modification.
The .223 Rem. - loaded with 3.56 g bullets - shows best performance in hunting roe deer and fox and can be well used up to 200 m. The performance and the hunting uses are practically identical with the .222 Rem., however the .223 Rem. is somewhat stronger. In self-loading rifles the .223 Rem. achieves excellent precision.
Due to its high precision, it is also an excellent sport-shooting cartridge.
The original .223 Rem. replaced the 7.62 Nato (.308 Win.) as military cartridge. At about the same time, Remington put it on the market also as a cartridge for the civil use.
