Product Description

When you need ammo that is going to really knock down those birds, Winchester Blind Side Steel Shot 20 Gauge Shotgun Ammunition is the one to choose. Blind Side is one of the most innovative shotshell loads that have ever come from Winchester. You get ground-breaking, stacked HEX Shot technology plus the new Diamond Cut Wadwhich makes for the most deadly Winchester waterfowl load available. Loaded with 100 percent HEX Shot, you get more pellets on target, a larger kill zone and more trauma inducing pellets than ever before, meaning quick kill shots.

Blind Side pellets are not round but hexahedronal – that is, rounded, but with six flat sides, like dice. The advantage to the shape is two-fold: the pellets pack more compactly into a hull, allowing higher payloads (1 3/8 ounces in a 3-inch hull, 1 5/8 in a 3 1/2-inch), and the shape increases shock trauma on tissue when it hits.

Because squared pellets tend to have a poorer aerodynamic shape than round pellets, this new shot has to be contained in a solid, unsplit shotcup to prevent the shot charge from behaving like a spreader load and opening up into very wide patterns. The cup has diamond-shaped cutout petals that deploy as the load exits the muzzle. They hold the shot together for a very short distance before the petals act like brakes and separate the wad from the shot. The combination works well and it seems to pattern like lead: the 1 3/8 ounce loads of 2s we shot printed about 50% patterns at 40 yards through an IC and tightened to just over 70% with Full.

All ammo must be shipped by Ground Service only.
You must be 18 or older to purchase ammunition. Due to safely concerns, we can not accept returns on ammunition.

Key Features of Winchester Blind Side Steel Shot 20 Gauge Shotgun Ammunition:

  • High Packing Density
With the unique shape of HEX Shot, Winchester literally packs the shot into the wad shot cup more efficiently to give the hunter up to 15 percent more shot pellets per shell.
  • Hex Steel Shot
Six-sided, multiple-edged shot provides increased trauma and wound channels, resulting in fast kills and 250 percent more trauma. The shot is designed to hit waterfowl like high-velocity tumbling bricks—preventing over penetration and maximizing energy deposit and knock-down shock within the bird.
  • Diamond Cut Wad
The Blind Side Diamond Cut Wad is designed to maximize pattern performance of Hex Shot, resulting in consistent patterns that increase the kill zone up to 25 percent. Winchester Blind Side Steel Shot 12 Gauge Shotgun Ammunition HEX Shot and the Diamond Cut Wad system is also choke responsive, providing consistent patterns through improved cylinder, modified or full choke systems.
  • Drylok Super Steel System
Important to duck hunters is keeping your powder dry. This system seals out water and moisture and is corrosion resistant for improved patterning and consistent velocities.

Please give your general opinion of this product.
Being a leftie I was excited when Benelli brought out their M2 20 ga on the pro side. I went to the Blind side ammo immediately. bought a couple of boxes locally. WAS NOT DISAPOINTED. Might be thinking twice and choosing shots, but my buddy tells me that I am hitting the birds as good if not better than ever. I am afraid to go back to the 12 ga, but will be using the case of 12 ga blind sides I bought with this one in 20 when I do later in the season
