Benelli M2 Field Compact 20 Gauge Shotgun
The Benelli M2 20 Gauge Shotgun is the work horse in the Benelli line of shotguns. Lightweight, speed, reliability, durability, and nimble are all perfect descriptions of the M2 Shotgun. Benelli shotguns have become the more reliable shotguns in the world. Benelli's patented Inertia driven bolt system is the center of Benelli reliability. The inertia driven system can feed and eject both 2.75 and 3 inch rounds from light trap loads to heavy magnum loads. The newly designed M2 models have adapted the ComforTech recoil system. This revolutionary system reduces felt recoil by up to 48% and cuts muzzle climb by 15%. When combined, this puts the shooter back on target up to 69% faster than with any other comparable semi-automatic shotgun. The new system makes the most reliable shotgun in the world even better!
Benelli M2 20 Gauge Shotgun Specifications:
Length of pull: 13.125 inches
Barrel length: 24 inches
Color: Black synthetic
Weight: 5.6 pounds
Overall length: 44 inches
Benelli M2 Compact model shotguns are designed for people with a smaller stature. Dont struggle with the reach needed for the regular M2 models. This model has a shorter butt-stock that decreases the length of pull to 13.125 inches from 14.375 inches. The significance of this setup is that you can buy it as a youth shotgun, and add larger butt pads as they grow. There are other youth butt-stocks available, but this one features a shorter stock that has the ComforTech system.
Inertia Driven System:
Simplicity is the deciding factor of the best and most reliable
guns. The three parts of the inertia system are the bolt body, inertia
spring, and rotating bolt head. This system can cycle anything from
light trap loads to 3.5 inch magnum field loads. The inertia system
stays cleaner by keeping the gas, burnt powder, and smoke in the barrel
where they are supposed to be. The reduced mass in the inertia system
helps the gun cycle faster. Steel locking lugs lock the bolt in place
during firing and they lock even tighter during firing.
Benelli reached out to computer specialists, material
scientists, and design engineers to help design a new recoil system for
shotguns. Their work resulted in the ComforTech system, a revolutionary
system that is subject to the laws of physics, but its design and
materials reduce recoil as much as 48 percent over the competition. The
new recoil pad is designed to spread the recoil across your entire
shoulder. The pad is made of a more shock absorbing material with no
hard inner structures that would hit your shoulder. The computer
designed stock flexes into the recoil reducing material to further
reduce recoil. Recoil pads designed for Super Black Eagle shotguns are
specific to which shoulder you use to even further customize and reduce
Cryogenic treated metal becomes smoother, and more even grained
than regular steel. Cryogenically treated steel is changed at the
molecular level when exposed to temperatures less than negative 300
degrees F. This extreme cold relieves all stresses related with the
design and construction of Benelli barrels. This slicker barrel holds
patterns longer and stays clean much longer. When combined with a longer
and also cryogenically treated choke tube the pattern and accuracy is
much better than all other factory barrels and choke tubes.
The AirTouch grip surface gives the user a much better surface
to hold onto in wet or dry conditions. The surface is not too aggressive
for bare hands, and comes standard on all ComforTech stocks. The
advanced molding techniques used by Benelli make this AirTouch
checkering pattern the best in the world.
GripTight is a high-tech texturing material on both the stock and forend of certain Benelli models. This synthetic over-coating feels almost tacky to the touch, so consequently, gives a sure grip wet or dry, with bare hands or even gloves. GripTight is totally weather resistant and completely bonded to the surface of the synthetic material of the stock and forend.
